The Philips HR1363 hand blender has a 0.5 litre beaker with a lid and a small chopper as well as a double action stainless steel blade that cuts horizontally and vertically for smooth results. The blender has two speed settings, including an extra-powerful turbo function for the toughest ingredients and hard-to-blend foods. Its anti-splash blade guard means no splashing, so you won't make a mess when you blend. The hand blender is also easy to clean, with dishwasher-safe parts and a detachable plastic shaft with click-off buttons. It also features soft-touch rubber grip and buttons, a 1.3 m cord and a powerful 600 watt motor.

Mix, blend and puree
This hand blender can be used to mix soft ingredients (such as mayonnaise or pancake batter), blend fluids (like dairy products, sauces, fruit juices, soups, mixed drinks and shakes) or to puree cooked ingredients (e.g. for making purees and baby food).
Chop a variety of ingredients
The chopper accessory can be used to chop ingredients such as nuts, meat, onions, hard cheese (such as Parmesan), boiled eggs, garlic, herbs and dry bread (for making breadcrumbs). You can also use the chopper to prepare dips and pastes like pesto, guacamole, salsa, tapenade, etc.
Minimal splashing
Splashing is minimised by the special design of the blade guard. To avoid splashing during use, make sure you immerse the blade guard completely in the ingredients and keep it immersed while processing. When blending in a pan, keep the hand blender upright and do not tilt it to further reduce the risk of splashing.
Convenient food storage
The 0.5 litre beaker that comes with the hand blender has a lid so that you can store the food you prepared with the hand blender in the fridge.

Excellent value for money!

I bought this hand blender for the sole purpose of puree-ing baby food, and to be honest, having never owned one before I was not sure it was going to be man enough for the job. I am more than pleased with this item, it blends/chops and purees very well (and in seconds!) and is easy to put together with the required attachment and to clean. Since buying it I have blended/chopped/pureed everything in sight!!!

I purchased this as a replacement for an older blender which broke (I dropped it!). It has been a complete change from the old one. The variable speed is a great feature, allowing different consistencies to be reached and a really smooth result can be achieved. I blended cashew nuts and water to make a dairy free ice cream and it came out velvety smooth.Another advantage to this model is that most of the parts can be put in the dishwasher, no more fiddly bits that can't be submerged in water!It also seems to splash less than my previous experience, i regularly make soup and liquidizing it is less risky now.I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Perfect results every time without dragging the large processor out of the cupboard. For everyday cooking and regular quantities, this little genius delivers a far superior result and is more controllable than any of the expensive and fiddly machines I have tried in the past. It chops extra fine or fine or coarse or just however you like it, and the blender function is second to none. For medical reasons I have to have much of my food blended or chopped very small, so I get through quite a few machines and have tried most of the blenders and processors available on the market in the last 30 years. This beats them all hands down for performance, ease of use and cleanability.
