Product Description

The Jamie Oliver Blender is part of the Jamie Oliver Electrics range by Tefal. Jamie has previously worked with Tefal in cookware but is now extending his innovative ideas into electrical cooking appliances.

This blender is perfect for blending all types of ingredients with the help of the multi-function stainless steel blade. It has sharpened and serrated blades to provide the perfect mix of ingredients. It even has an ice crush button that will crush ice cubes in seconds, so it’s brilliant for cocktails and smoothies too. Once your done, there’s no fuss cleaning either, as all parts are removable.

3Blender
By Shaya
This is a good solid blender that looks quite stylish in a brushed stainless steel finish, with an easy to use button and fairly understandable instructions. But there are though a few things that let it down. The main one is that it leaks if you fill it over 800 ml. The Bung or measuring cup as they call it on the lid does not seal in the contents so when you switch it on it oozes through. The instructions do say that you should never add boiling liquids into it but if you cool any sauces or soups slightly first before blending them they can still be hot enough to scold yourself if you are not careful so keep hands clear of the lid.It also leaks out when adding further ingredients via the feeder tube (taking the measuring cup out exposing a hole in the lid for adding extra bits) unless you only fill it up to the 800 ml mark. The first thing I tried in this was soup and as I have a large family filled it almost full and the soup splashed out. I thought I had not put the lid on properly but ever since I have used it the liquid still comes out around the measuring cup and I have tried several ways of placing it in the lid to the same end.I also find the glass jug a little on the small side for my family and have to make things up in batches instead of one go as I used to with my old blender.Cleaning is a bit fiddly too as I found the blade unit very hard to remove from the glass jug.Moaning aside its a nice blender to use, very solid and have found it effortlessly blends its way through Pasta Sauces, Soups, Pancake mix and batters, smoothies and fruit puree.I have only given it 3 stars as my previous blender was very cheap, much bigger capacity, easier to pull apart for cleaning and did not leak. I would have expected a more expensive, Celebrity endorsed top range product to be at least on a par with that and it is not.

1Not impressed......
By Flossy
I bought this blender in September as it was "Which" Magazine recommended and I didn't want to spend the dizzy Kitchen Aid price of about £150. I use it for smoothies and soup making. It was handy and the best bit was that you could (with a bit of force) take the bottom off and clean it properly. In the summer I was using it once a day to make smoothies and more recently have been using it twice a week for soups. The problem is that it has started leaking out of the very handy bottom and is literally gushing out and down into the motor. I wish I'd bought the expensive one! Jamie, do you have one? I think not!

4A good blender, with a few minor faults.
By Christopher Meadows
This blender is, first of all, relatively simple to put together. I'm not the most DIY-handy of people, but managed to assemble it relatively quickly. Having said that, the instructions for assembly are entirely pictorial, similar to flat pack furniture, and I had some difficulty interpreting them. Fortunately, referring to those instructions wasn't really something I needed to do.Structurally, there are three core components - the base unit, containing the motor and the speed controls, the jug and blades, and the unit lid. The base unit has a stainless steel brush finish, and sits solidly on the countertop - I wasn't concerned that it was going to fall over, which is a plus. The speed controls are set by a dial on the front, which has a variety of settings, including `pulse', for variety. The dial moves easily, and has a good grip, allowing for use even when hands are coated in juice. The jug is a reassuringly thick glass, which is quite solid and heavy. I was concerned that I might drop it at one point, so be careful! The blades are wicked looking, and extremely sharp. Note that the jug must be slotted correctly onto the motor unit for the blades to turn. It may *appear* properly set, but if it is not correctly locked, then the device will not start up. I assume this is a safety feature to stop the jug falling off the base, and am glad to see it included - however, I wish that the page of instructions post-assembly had mentioned this, as I was originally concerned that there was an electrical fault! The jug lid is easy to slot to the top of the jug, and has a hole in the centre where a measuring cup is placed - this allows for pouring into the jug even when the lid is placed. However, I found that on inserting the measuring cup, the two small holes that existed to allow the cup to be placed would also allow the escape of liquid from the blender - though only if the jug was filled to capacity (which is not the same as to the top of the jug - there is a maximum capacity line, as with kettles). In use, the blender has so far created several nice soups and a milkshake, going through ice cream and vegetable matter with ease, and making a product with good consistency, with relative ease.I'm impressed by the build quality of the machine, and the results. It is straightforward to use, and nice enough to look at. However, it does lose points for the opacity of the instructions, and the possibility that a full jug will allow liquid to escape, even in small quantities. This is a good blender, and I do like it, but I don't find it exceptional.
